Unhas breves consideracións a conto desta serie. Van 50 recopilatorios, medio cento de Radio Waves que empezaron sendo unha forma de reeditar vellas cintas e agora vexo que forman unha liña de tempo que barre os anos 90 nunha extensión pop (indie, britpop), rock (noise, postrock, lo-fi e, ehem, alternativo), electrónica (techno, drum and bass, IDM, ambient), postcountry e postfolk e calquer etiqueta que cadrase no momento correcto (triphop, slowcore, emocore, etc). Etiquetas. En cada Radio Waves hai case tantas coma cancións; iso pode asustar se o que se busca é unha música que refracte un estado de ánimo concreto nun momento concreto. Po-la contra, este eclecticismo é do máis natural: no mesmo mes no que os Stone Roses resucitaron, os que foramos seus fans tiñamos a antena virada cara os USA de perdedores de Beck, e ainda cando Elastica colaban un single gañador, preguntámonos quénes eran eses Wire que lles puxeron un pleito por plaxio. Decembro do 94. Os 80 eran historia. A historia da música popular continuaba enchendo liñas con excitantes novos estilos. Apenas hai hip hop aquí, é certo, máis tampouco metal, blues ou ritmos do mundo; é a miña festa, sí, pero gustaríame saber se hai alguén seguindo estas retransmisións ou se deben quedar na exclusividade das estanterías da miña discoteca. ¿Algún comentario?
